Rio Grande River Headwaters
The headwaters of
the mighty Rio Grand River can be found deep in the heart of
the San Juan Mountains.
To really appreciate
this land an education in history seems appropriate. If the
mountains
and river could talk, they would have thousands of great stories
to tell. The indisputable original inhabitants of this region
were the Capote band of the Ute Indian tribe. It was the Rio
Grande River headwaters that provided them a quality of life
that many can only dream about in today’s crazy world.
